We had a great time making and filming mini magical worlds with the wonderful young people of ! 🌴

is an early intervention mentoring programme for young people 8-18 years in South London.

The videos form part of a wider series of workshops Hot Desque is making to connect young people’s voices from across the UK, begun two years ago. If you’re interested get in touch!

“Rebeca Romero’s ‘Insignis SS’ is based on 3D renderings of pre-Colombian artefacts that have been augmented by the artist. When viewing the resulting vessel, we are unable to tell where the historical reconstruction ends and the artist’s imagination begins. Romero’s hybrid shape makes visible what we otherwise might not notice in the museum, that many ancient artefacts are also shaped by modern interventions (and by the hopes and anxieties of those who discovered/invented them).” - Frederika Tevebring
