The Tascam DA-6400 is a great and very stable 64 tracks recorder, which supports both Dante and MADI + a perfect backup passthrough recorder for some other main recorder. The main grumble is that there’s no internal mixer. It works really well for audio spatial audio recordings I usually do but it does have an impact on live recordings, as you’re only able to audition one mono or stereo channel at once, and not see how the channels interact with each other in the mix. Overall, a reliable “back-up” recorder to have in your kit.
