More than 300 people gathered in Dunfermline for a landmark event celebrating African heritage, bringing together families, friends, and supporters from across Fife. Weeks of searching, praying, and hoping for answers, the family of 20-year-old Derek Samuel has confirmed the devastating news that his body has been found in a wooded area near where he was last seen in East Point, Georgia.

Search and rescue teams worked tirelessly throughout the investigation, with a K-9 unit helping locate him after he disappeared following a visit to a local store in late April.

Authorities are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding his death, and many questions remain unanswered.

Controversy is growing after a group of migrants deported from the United States arrived in Sierra Leone under a new Trump-era deportation agreement.

Officials confirmed that nine deportees from Ghana, Guinea, Senegal and Nigeria landed in Freetown on Wednesday, sparking fresh debate over human rights, immigration policy and secretive international deals. Critics say African nations are being pressured into accepting migrants who are not their citizens, while supporters argue the agreements help manage global migration challenges.

Sierra Leone’s government says the deportees are being housed safely and receiving support, but legal experts and human rights groups are raising concerns over transparency, medical care and whether migrants are being denied proper legal protection before removal.

Reports also reveal the U.S. government is providing funding as part of the arrangement, with Sierra Leone expected to temporarily host deportees before they are returned to their home countries or transferred elsewhere.

Three sisters from London who were recovered from the water near Brighton beach have now been formally identified as Jane Adetoro, 36, Christina Walter, 32, and Rebecca Walter, 31.

Emergency crews rushed to the seafront in the early hours after reports of concern for three women, with lifeboats, coastguards, and a helicopter joining the desperate search effort.
