“Reflections on Our Nation’s Challenges” — Peter Obi

In recent days, many Nigerians have expressed worry about the direction of our country. When negative remarks were made about Nigeria, we felt offended — but the rising insecurity, kidnappings, and the recent attack in Kwara State remind us that we truly need to work together.

Instead of unity, we are seeing avoidable disagreements across different political parties. I remember President Umaru Musa Yar’Adua once insisted that every political party must operate peacefully and within the law because it strengthens democracy.

Today, we must avoid division and build a system where every group is respected, elections reflect the people’s will, and leadership focuses on peace and progress.

With sincerity and collective effort, Nigeria can rise again.

Late Stella Obasanjo, wife of former President Olusegun Obasanjo, once attended a programme near the secondary school she graduated from.

As she was leaving the venue, she suddenly heard someone calling out loudly,
“Aunty Star! Aunty Star!! Aunty Star!!!”

That was the nickname her juniors used for her back in school.
Curious, she turned around, saw the woman calling her, and immediately asked her security to let the woman through.

The woman joyfully introduced herself as one of her juniors from school.
Her Excellency welcomed her warmly. Seizing the moment, the woman explained that she was a widow struggling to take care of her children and begged for assistance.

Being a compassionate and generous woman, Mrs. Stella asked her what she needed.
The lady replied, “Anything.”
Mrs. Stella asked again, and the answer remained the same.

So, Her Excellency instructed one of her escorts to give the woman ₦50,000. She also gave her personal phone number, telling her to call in two weeks, after her return from a trip abroad, when she would have decided exactly what she wanted.

The woman went home celebrating and even shared her testimony in church.

Sadly, before the two weeks passed, Chief Mrs. Stella Obasanjo died in Spain during a surgical procedure.

LESSONS

Know what you truly want in life — don’t settle for “anything.”

Success often shows up when preparation meets opportunity.

Opportunity is like a visitor — when it comes, make the most of it, because it may never return.

PUBLIC APOLOGY

I want to openly confess and sincerely apologize to the world, to Africa, and to Nigeria in particular.

I was among those who cr1t1c1zed and resisted Donald Trump’s attempts to speak out about the rec_kless k1||1ngs happening in Nigeria. At the time, I believed he was only targeting our national resources.

However, with the increasing v10lence, rising
abduc_tions, and the growing strength of t3rr0r1st att_acks, I now realize how wrong I was. The situation has become even w0rse.

Today, I humbly call on Donald J. Trump to intervene and help Nigeria urgently. We need every voice and every hand that can bring peace, safety, and justice to our nation.

Please, if you mean well for Nigeria, tag relevant media, agencies, organisations , and individuals to this matter .

The son went and returned saying:
“They offered me $10,000 because they said it looks too old and used.”

The father replied, “Now take it to a pawn shop.”

He went again and came back:
“They offered only $1,000. They said the car is outdated.”

Finally, the father said, “Take it to a classic car club.”

When the boy returned, he was shocked:
“Dad, they offered me $100,000! They said it’s a rare classic and highly valuable.”

The father smiled and said:

“My son, the right place will always see your true worth.
If they don’t value you, don’t be angry — it means you’re standing in the wrong place.
Go where your value is recognized.” 💛
