Taking a moment to share something personal - I’ve made the decision to start looking for the right mobility aid for me.
This journey is about finding what best supports my independence and well-being. 🫶🏻
My skin condition (Hidradenitis suppurativa) has reached a point where it's affecting my daily life in ways I never imagined.
The pain and discomfort during flare-ups are making it hard for me to move, walk, and simply live fully.
There are days when I’m unable to get out of bed, leaving me unable to even feed or hydrate myself. This isn't a sustainable way to live.
I’ve had to cancel plans, not attend work, lose money on non-refundable tickets, and miss out on special moments that I’ll never get back. Recently, I couldn’t even take my cat to the vet, and it’s hit me how much this is impacting my life.
I’m starting to consider purchasing a wheelchair for when my body can’t keep up with life.
I want to reclaim my freedom, spend time with friends, and stop missing out on the things that matter.
At 26, this isn't where I thought I'd be, but if it can improve my quality of life, it might be worth it.
Has anyone else been through something similar?
I'd love to hear your experiences and any advice you can offer. 💛
