True Love โค๏ธ Always โฆโฆ
I was 12 years old when I got married to him. I still remember it clearly. He came with a horse cart to marry me. No one in my entire village had ever gotten married with a horse cart before. I was so happy and proud! My husband paid 10 taka at that time for it. With that money, he could have bought a very big paddy field!
After our wedding, my husband used to call me Ranga Bou, which means โbeautiful wife.โ He said I was the most beautiful woman he had ever seen in his entire life. But my husband had such dark skin that the village people often made jokes about him. They used to say he was like โa black stone wearing a pearl necklace.โ But my husband never minded; he always seemed happy and smiled when people made that joke. He would always say to me, โSee how beautiful you are!โ
We have been together for the last 75 years. Two years ago, I went to visit my elder son and his family, leaving my husband with my younger son and his family. My daughter-in-law told me he used to call out every 10 minutes, โWhere is my Ranga Bou? Has she called? When is she coming back?โ
He becomes restless without me. We have never been apart in our entire married life. We wake up together and pray our morning prayers together. He cannot eat unless I cook the meal with my own hands! And when we sit down to eat, he always gives me the biggest piece of the fish.
If I ever got mad at him and stopped talking to him, he would sit beside me and refuse to move until I smiled at him. If I disappeared from his sight for even a few minutes, he would look for me everywhere and start calling out, โWhere is my Ranga Bou?โ Because of him, I can never go anywhere for long.
Maybe we wonโt see each other for much longer. We are nearing the end of our lives. I donโt want to go before himโhe will go crazy without me. He will look for his Ranga Bou everywhere! My only wish is for God to take me after him.
