Congratulations to co-host which has been named The Times and The Sunday Times University of the Year 2026 🏆👏

Sir Harry credited his most formative years as those at Durham University, which he attended from 1949-1952. As an undergraduate at University College, he became a contributor and later editor of the university’s independent student newspaper. A role that foreshadowed the extraordinary editing career that lay ahead of him. 🗞️

Enough.

Today we join and media organisations around the world to call for the protection of Palestinian journalists in Gaza.

According to 220 journalists have been killed in Gaza in the last two years, while international media has been banned.

Journalists must be protected. The world must know the truth.

The application window for the 2026 Sir Harry Evans Global Fellowship in Investigative Journalism is open 📣

The fellowship is a wonderful opportunity for an early-career investigative journalist. The Sir Harry Fellow spends 6-8 months embedded in one of investigations units at its headquarters in London or one of its bureaus, and is mentored by senior Reuters editors.

The Fellow also benefits from access to Durham University’s academic and research resources, offering time, space and support to pursue rigorous, high-impact journalism.

We’re proud to share that inaugural Fellow, Waylon Cunningham, was part of the Reuters team awarded a Pulitzer for their investigation into Elon Musk’s business practices.

Last Year In Reuters Pictures
A show specially curated for the Truth Tellers by from the 1.6 million pictures it sent out into the world last year.

As roughly half the world’s population went out to vote in election, there was reason for them to feel disheartened. Catastrophic floods from Brazil to Kenya, North Carolina to Nepal.

Price rises and protests, grinding wars in Ukraine and the Middle East that often threatened to escalate.

There was violence in Haiti, wildfires in Greece, and a disputed election in Venezuela (again). People sought relief in quiet prayer, in contemplating art, in climbing mountains to get away from it all.

But they also came together - to cheer on victories for their sporting teams or election candidtates, to watch the moon cover the sun and to celebrate love and family.

Photographers from Reuters were there to record it all — and much more.
