US Sen. Lindsey Graham, a longtime Republican from South Carolina and ally of President Donald Trump, has died following an aortic dissection, according to a preliminary finding from the Washington, DC, medical examiner. He was 71.

First elected to the US Senate in 2002, Graham came to embody the evolution of the Republican Party as a critic to Trump who turned fiercely loyal, eventually growing to be one of the president’s closest advisers on Capitol Hill.

But even as his fealty to Trump was unquestioned, the senior senator continued to be a vocal spokesperson for US intervention and leadership across the globe β€” often breaking with the more isolationist bent of Trump’s supporters.

BREAKING!

Former President Ernest Bai Koroma Welcomes Discontinuation of Criminal Proceedings

Former President Dr. Ernest Bai Koroma has officially confirmed that the criminal proceedings instituted against him have been discontinued, following an announcement by the Attorney-General and Minister of Justice in accordance with the laws of Sierra Leone.

In a statement issued from Abuja, Nigeria today, Tuesday, 14 July 2026, Koroma expressed gratitude to God for guiding him and his family through what he described as a difficult period, reaffirming his faith in peace, justice, and reconciliation.

The former President also acknowledged President Dr. Julius Maada Bio and the Government of Sierra Leone for their role in bringing the matter to a conclusion through constitutional and legal processes.

Koroma extended appreciation to the ECOWAS Authority of Heads of State and Government, the President of the ECOWAS Commission, Dr. Omar Alieu Touray, and several former African Heads of State for their commitment to peace, dialogue, and regional stability.

He reserved special thanks for Nigerian President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, National Security Adviser Mallam Nuhu Ribadu, and the Government and people of Nigeria for their hospitality, support, and solidarity during his stay in Abuja.

Calling for unity, Koroma urged Sierra Leoneans to continue placing the nation above personal interests, emphasizing that lasting peace, democratic governance, and national development can only be achieved through reconciliation and collective effort.

He concluded by reaffirming his commitment to supporting initiatives that promote peace, strengthen democracy, and improve the welfare of the Sierra Leonean people.

Former Director-General of the National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons, Julie Okah-Donli, has alleged that some women fake pregnancies using steroids and later obtain babies to deceive their husbands into believing they gave birth.

Okah-Donli made the claim in a resurfaced interview on Tuesday during an appearance on the Kaa Truths Podcast, where she spoke about alleged fake pregnancy syndicates and baby trafficking in Nigeria.

According to her, women involved in the practice are allegedly injected with steroids that make them appear heavily pregnant.

β€œThey are injected with steroids. So when they inject them with these steroids, it gives them the semblance of a pregnant woman. Their faces are bloated up, and their tummies are actually very big. They look pregnant, but they are not pregnant,” she said.
