My journey into reconnecting memories began with the agonizing loss of my son, Ayden. Trying to deal with this immense grief, I turned to drawing as a means of healing and discovered a talent for creating photorealistic graphite and charcoal portraits. Custom Portraits and Challenges:
As my confidence developed, I began crafting hand drawn customised portraits of children, adults, and pets for others. At this point, I discovered numerous requests to blend together family members who had never met or to bring together cherished ones as a precious memento, perfect for gifts on special occasions. However, I often faced challenges when working with old photographs or phone snapshots, as many features were blurred and pixelated due to age, difficult lighting, and other factors, making it impossible to draw accurately. Embracing Digital Art Tools:
I found it hard to turn down people's requests, as I empathised with their need to reconnect with their loved ones. This frustration eventually led me to develop my Adobe Photoshop skills, as I realised it was a powerful tool to help me create family portraits. Here, I was able to enhance photographs through the benefits of Artificial Intelligence. I quickly realised how digital art tools could replace my hand-drawn skills in a very unique way. I now continue to perfect the art of enhancing and merging photos to create various effects, from realistic photo merges to painterly styles, catering to each client's preferences. My journey took a meaningful turn when word of mouth spread about my empathic approach, born from my own experiences of loss. Four years after the heart-breaking loss of my son, Ayden, I have created my own treasured keepsake. He is the reason I am here today as an artist, sharing this story with you. The digital photograph displayed as the cover photo is a testament to the power of wishes coming true. It features my son Ayden alongside his niece Hallie, whom he never had the chance to meet. This photograph I created has not only opened a new chapter for me but also for my eldest son, Danny.
