The big question: How did payments eat the world?

WIRED, in partnership with J.P. Morgan and Acquired podcast hosts Ben Gilbert and David Rosenthal, brought us in to help answer that very question.

Working with the WIRED team at Condé Nast, we created a multi-sensory story, blending conversation, visuals, sound and artistry, to explore the future of currency and the forces shaping global payments.

The result? More than a discussion between two podcasting powerhouses, a carefully crafted audio-visual journey into the world of money and innovation.

Collaborating with the brilliant Nick Howe, we created imagery that really brings the menu to life.

The highlight? One of our team spotted it mid-journey on a flight (and yes, he did order the Leffe 🍺).

Director Bruno Chiecco and DoP Jack Wylson spent two weeks in Weligama bringing the spirit of South Beach to life.

At the time, this ambitious property development was only partially complete. So we leaned on imagination, creativity, and local inspiration to shape the story for our client.

Immersed in the culture and guided by architect John Belmond’s vision, we explored the soul of Weligama through a three-part film series: the Carpenter, the Fisherman, and the Surfer.

From the dreamy dioptre blur to the golden light, rich colours, and depth of community, every frame was crafted to capture the people, the place, and the promise of what’s to come.

Every year, countless wild animals are taken from their natural habitats and sold into the illegal pet trade. The first film Cheetahs began as a passion project to expose how social media fuels this exploitation. After winning awards at international festivals, it led to four more episodes: Primates, Tigers, Birds, and Reptiles & Amphibians, all commissioned by Waterbear Network. National Geographic asked us to craft a 45-min shark documentary diving into whether female sharks rule the seas. From South Africa to The Maldives, we followed scientists on an epic mission. Written by Big Sky founders Ben & Jack Wylson and finished in our Shoreditch studio.
