History has been made — Zohran Mamdani has become the new Mayor of New York City.
A name that once echoed through community struggles now shines on the global stage.
Congratulations to him! His victory is not only for himself — it’s a victory for every immigrant child who dreams, for every South Asian who believes in equality, justice, and progress.
But this moment makes us ask a powerful question:
👉 Why not a British Bangladeshi as the next Mayor of London?
We, the British Bangladeshi community, have built our lives, families, and dreams here in the UK.
This is our home. Our children’s future lies here. Yet, many of us are still more involved in the politics of Bangladesh than the politics of Britain, where our real lives and opportunities exist.
Yes, we love Bangladesh — it is our motherland. But Britain is our homeland.
If the time and passion we spend on Deshi politics were redirected — even 50% — into mainstream British politics, we could rise to incredible heights.
Because we understand politics. We have the intelligence, courage, and strategy to lead.
Remember — when the British ruled India, the one nation they feared politically and intellectually was the Bengali.
They used to say: “What the Bengali thinks today, India thinks tomorrow.”
That brilliance, that foresight, that courage — it still runs through our veins.
So, let’s be positive. Let’s be united.
Too often, we compete with each other instead of helping one another. But unity is power.
Together, we can lift our community, our people, and our voice.
We want to see more British Bangladeshi councillors, MPs, and one day — a Mayor of London!
The dream is possible. The time is now. Let’s stand together.

ইতিহাস সৃষ্টি হয়েছে — জোহরান মামদানি এখন নিউ ইয়র্ক সিটির নতুন মেয়র।
যে নাম একসময় সমাজের সংগ্রামে প্রতিধ্বনিত হত, আজ সেই নাম বিশ্বমঞ্চে উজ্জ্বল।
তাকে অভিনন্দন! তার এই বিজয় শুধু তার নয় — এটি প্রতিটি অভিবাসী সন্তানের বিজয়, প্রতিটি দক্ষিণ এশীয় মানুষের বিজয়, যারা সমতা, ন্যায়বিচার এবং অগ্রগতিতে বিশ্বাস করে।
কিন্তু এই মুহূর্তে আমাদের মনে একটি প্রশ্ন জাগে —
👉 লন্ডনের পরবর্তী মেয়র কেন একজন ব্রিটিশ বাংলাদেশি হবে না?
আমরা ব্রিটিশ বাংলাদেশিরা এই দেশে আমাদের জীবন, পরিবার, ও ভবিষ্যৎ গড়ে তুলেছি।
এই দেশই এখন আমাদের ঘর, আমাদের সন্তানদের ভবিষ্যৎ এখানেই।
তবু আমরা অনেকে এখনও বাংলাদেশের রাজনীতিতে বেশি আগ্রহী, অথচ আমাদের বাস্তব জীবন ও সুযোগ রয়েছে ব্রিটেনের রাজনীতিতে।
হ্যাঁ, আমরা বাংলাদেশকে ভালোবাসি — সেটি আমাদের জন্মভূমি।
কিন্তু ব্রিটেন আমাদের বসবাসের দেশ, আমাদের ভবিষ্যতের দেশ।
যদি আমরা বাংলাদেশি রাজনীতিতে যে সময় ও শক্তি ব্যয় করি, তার অর্ধেকও ব্রিটিশ রাজনীতিতে দিই, তাহলে আমরা অসাধারণ সাফল্য অর্জন করতে পারি।
কারণ আমরা রাজনীতি বুঝি, আমরা মেধাবী, কৌশলী, এবং সাহসী।
মনে রাখুন — যখন ব্রিটিশরা ভারত শাসন করত, তখন তারা এক জাতিকে সবচেয়ে বেশি ভয় পেত — বাঙালিকে।
তারা বলত: “আজ যা বাঙালি ভাবে, কাল তা পুরো ভারত ভাবে।”
সেই বুদ্ধিমত্তা, সেই সাহস আজও আমাদের রক্তে প্রবাহিত।
তাই আসুন, আমরা ইতিবাচক হই, এক থাকি।
নিজেদের মধ্যে প্রতিযোগিতা নয় — একে অপরকে সাহায্য করি।
ঐক্যেই শক্তি। ঐক্যেই সাফল্য।
আমরা চাই আরও বেশি ব্রিটিশ বাংলাদেশি কাউন্সিলর, এমপি, এবং একদিন — লন্ডনের মেয়র!
স্বপ্ন সম্ভব। সময় এখনই। আসুন, একসাথে এগিয়ে যাই।
