Adidas have apologised after receiving backlash for featuring an Israeli soldier in an ad campaign.

In a statement they said, “We recognize that an image used in a recent local activation by the local team has raised concerns and strong reactions. It was never our intent to cause offense and we apologize for anyone affected. We acknowledge the concerns that have been raised and are taking the feedback seriously.”

It added: “Across the Middle East, Adidas has a long-standing commitment to the communities we serve, working alongside athletes, teams and sporting communities throughout the region as well as supporting people and communities in need through product donations.”

“We will continue to listen, learn and work to ensure that our actions reflect the inclusive values we stand for.”

Adidas has sparked outrage after featuring Israeli soldier Shalev Biton, who took part in Israel’s genocidal war on Gaza, in its latest advertising campaign.

Biton, who lost a leg during Israel’s genocide on Gaza, is featured promoting Adidas’ new “Single Shoe Service” - a scheme allowing customers who only need one shoe to purchase it for half the price of a pair.

But Adidas’ decision to use an IDF soldier has drawn widespread condemnation, particularly as thousands of Palestinians have suffered life-changing amputations as a result of Israel’s attacks.

Ratko Mladić, the general known as the “Butcher of Bosnia”, has died while serving a life sentence for genocide, crimes against humanity, and war crimes.

He was convicted of genocide for his role in the Srebrenica massacre, where more than 8,000 Muslim men and boys were murdered in July 1995 .

The massacre remains the worst mass killing in Europe since the Second World War.

He will now face true justice in the court of Allah.

In 2023, Jaouen Hadjam was benched by the Nantes manager after choosing to observe his Ramadan fast on matchdays.

A few months later, he was sold to Swiss football club Young Boys.

Three years later, the Algerian international has signed for Brighton and is set to play in the Premier League. This is a significant career upgrade from the French and Swiss leagues.

And the twist? Nantes have since been relegated to Ligue 2.

Stay firm on your principles and Allah will give you something better.
