🗺️ Have you come across the term ‘townsizing’?

Our Cambridge Dictionary blog defines it as a trend where travellers visit smaller, quieter towns and villages rather than the better-known big tourist cities.

🗨️ “We are experiencing an exciting era in which language technologies are increasingly used and deployed…”

Vered Shwartz recently spoke with us about her new book ‘Lost in Automatic Translation: Navigating Life in English in the Age of Language Technologies’, published by Cambridge University Press.

She shares the challenges and opportunities of automatic translation for language learners – and how technology alongside humans offers “the best of both worlds.”

Reflecting on what inspired the book, she says: “Going through this process as both a user of language technologies and a researcher studying them motivated me to explore this question.”
