WARNING: Graphic child abuse
Lifelong violent criminal since age 12.
Terrance Valdez Leslie, DOB: 08/04/1996 of Maplewood.

Charged with killing his girlfriend's 17-month-old daughter this week while she was in his care at their Maplewood apartment at 1492 County Rd B East.

The autopsy indicated ongoing abuse, old/new bruises, extensive injuries, and evidence of sexual assault.

Police were called for a child with serious burn injuries. Leslie said the child fell into the tub and was scalded. He said her skin was peeling off. Police could find no evidence that the child had fallen into the tub, there was no water evidence or wet towels. However, police later found Leslie’s phone contained a Google search about the degree of burns caused by “boiling water.”

The child later died at the hospital.

The complaint described graphic abuses, some of which Leslie videotaped on his phone.

The complaint indicated that the child's mother was fully cognizant of Leslie's abusive behavior, yet left the child in his care anyway:

"Investigators interviewed [Hannah Wellor] Hne. She said that she has been dating Leslie two to three months and they have been living together for several weeks. After initially denying that Leslie abused her, she did state that Leslie physically abuses her, punching and kicking her. She said that in the last few weeks, Leslie assaulted her while she was holding JLH, and that some of the blows struck JLH. Hne told police that JLH was physically fine when she left her in the care of Leslie on October 18."

From the complaint:
"The cause of death was determined to be multiple traumatic injuries due to assault, with external injuries to the face, shoulder, chest, and right forearm, and internal bleeding in the brain and lacerations to the thymus gland and liver and adrenal gland, and fractures to the right ulna and radius. Also notable were injuries to the genitourinary tract and a**s/rectum consistent with sexual assault, including bloody fluid to the vaginal canal and white
opaque fluid exuding from the a**s. The death is deemed a homicide."

Mindy Tran, 8 was last seen on August 17, 1994, riding her little pink bike to a friend’s house a few doors away. Despite a massive search, her remains would not be found for another two months in a shallow grave in Mission Creek Park near the Tran’s Kelowna home. Shannon Murrin, 43 who was staying with friends near the house at the time of her abduction, was charged with the sexual assault and first-degree murder of Mindy Tran. He was acquitted after a seven-month trial, and I’m not making this up, had an affair with one of the jurors (Kathy MacDonald) and they moved to Newfoundland to write a book. As far as I can tell, good sense prevailed, and the book was never published. Mindy’s murder is still officially unsolved.

Reyna Angélica Marroquín was a young Salvadoran woman who arrived in the United States in the mid-1960s, hoping to build a new life. She found work at a plastic flower factory in New York and also helped as a nanny in a nearby home. Over time, she began a relationship with her employer, Howard Elkins, a married man with children.

In 1969, Angélica became pregnant with his child, but complications arose soon after. Although Elkins had promised to leave his wife, Angélica decided to tell the truth. She called Elkins’ wife to confess her relationship with him and that she was expecting his baby. Mysteriously, after that phone call, Angélica disappeared completely. Her family in El Salvador never heard from her again for decades.

It wasn’t until 1999, when a couple purchased Elkins’ old house in Jericho, New York, that the mystery began to unravel. While cleaning the basement, they found a dusty old barrel containing the mummified remains of a pregnant woman, along with artificial flowers, a small medallion, and a notebook with phone numbers. Investigators identified the remains as Angélica Marroquín through the residence number in the notebook, and the barrel matched those used at her factory. Howard Elkins, who had retired in Florida, denied any involvement but died by su***de the following day. DNA testing later confirmed he was the father of her unborn child, finally bringing the truth to light after three decades of silence.

The last photo of Christopher McCandless found on his undeveloped camera. He died in August 1992.

McCandles ventured into the Alaskan wilderness hoping to live simply off the land.

On the eastern bank of the Sushana River, McCandless found an abandoned bus, Fairbanks Bus 142, which he used as a makeshift shelter until his death.

In September, his decomposing body, weighing only 67 pounds (30 kg), was found inside the bus by a hunter.

On December 8, 1963, Rodney Fox was participating in a spearfishing competition in the waters near Aldinga Beach, South Australia. As he swam in pursuit of a fish, a massive great white shark, estimated to be around 15 feet long, suddenly struck from below. The attack was brutal, with the shark biting into Fox's torso and puncturing his diaphragm, ribs, and lung.

Despite the severity of his injuries, Rodney Fox's survival instincts and quick thinking played a crucial role in his escape from the jaws of the great white. Using his speargun, he fiercely fought back against the shark, delivering powerful blows to its snout until it released its grip. Severely wounded and losing a significant amount of blood, Fox managed to swim to the surface, where he was rescued by fellow competitors.
