On the night I was born, at about 2:00 a.m., Baba drove my mother, who was in labor, to General Hospital, Warri. Three months later, he carried me in his arms again this time for my baptism and naming ceremony.

Many years passed, and in 2026, I had the rare privilege of sitting with Baba as he shared the story of his life with me. It was a conversation I will treasure forever. At the end of our meeting, he presented me with a gift not just as a token of love, but as a powerful sign of his belief in me. It was his way of saying he had seen my ambition, recognized my readiness, and given me his blessing.

To many, Baba may be gone. But to me, he never truly left. I still hear his voice every day in the values he lived by, the wisdom he shared, and the faith he placed in me.

Good night, Baba. Your legacy lives on, and so will your voice in my heart.
