W I N D R U S H D A Y

Today we honour the our ancestors, the Windrush Generation - their courage, their contribution, and their legacy.

In 1948, the HMT Empire Windrush arrived in the UK, carrying Caribbean people who came to help rebuild the country after the war. They shaped Britain’s culture, economy, and public services — especially the NHS — with strength, resilience and pride.

Windrush Day is a time to celebrate their impact, tell the truth of their experiences, and ensure their stories are never forgotten.

We also recognise that many have faced injustice and continue to fight for recognition and redress.

Their legacy lives on in us — in our families, our communities, and in the continued call for dignity and justice.

Since our event, has gone onto do some amazing things😍

Lex is the ultimate creative coder and game designer, and uses emerging technologies to create playful experiments exploring pop culture.

Until this year, Lex continued as co-founder & head of making at Comuzi, a design and innovation studio, working at the intersection of emerging technology and humans. Comuzi’s clients included Nike, ASOS, Uber, BBC, University of Arts London, Ustwo, Waltham Forest Council and the NHS.👏🏿

Lex has also been an associate lecturer at Central Saint Martins, University of The Arts London and has been a judge for D&AD New Blood awards.

Lex is currently a Creative Coder at Google, and also the founder of The Office of Art and Technology.

Last week announced she has teamed up with Moët Hennessy to create SirDavis, a new American whiskey brand!

The brand name pays tribute to her great- grandfather, Davis Hogue who was a farmer and moonshiner in the American south during Prohibition. Alcohol was banned throughout the US in this time so Hogue would stash whiskey bottles in empty knots of cedar trees for friends to find and enjoy. This discovery, combined with an affection for Japanese whisky, is what inspired Beyoncé to create her own spirit.👏🏿
