A little snippet from my podcast telling the story of how I got into doing content creation which has led me to where I am now…

In 2017 I had a blog post, I’ve always loved media, writing etc. and so back then I would write a weekly blog post all around hair care & beauty and post this to my blog. This was a hobby for me whilst I was working in the hair industry.

Then in 2018 I first began creating my own hair tutorial videos (posting them as a 60 second square at the time, this was well before reels or TikTok existed!) and this came at a time where I couldn’t see a hair professional sharing hair tutorials online for the everyday person or providing simple hair care tips/advice, breaking it down in a way for everyone to understand

As you might know I’m a big advocate for professional products and treatments but it’s so important to maintain your hair correctly at home in between and so I saw myself and my content as connecting the dots between the 2 worlds - the ‘professional’ & the ‘consumer’

Tight & loose curls with a straightener all by just tweaking 1 thing - the turn!

Half a turn will give you a relaxed loose curl

& 1 full turn will give you a tighter curl

How the glide affects the curl 👇🏼

1. Straight down, 0 degree elevation for the loosest curl with a straight end
2. Diagonally out, 45 degree elevation both upwards & outwards to the side for a defined curl with a rounded end
3. Horizontally out, 90 degree elevation pulling directly outwards for the bounciest, tightest curl

Who's now going to think about their glide when curling with a flat iron? 😆
