Radio Invicta 92,4 This is the official Facebook tribute: Radio Invicta - Europes first all soul station. Operating from 1970 to 1984 Invicta was the pioneer.

Being the first all-soul station in London - may were to follow, but Invicta was the first. Many dj's was first on Invicta. Household names as Pete Tong, Giles Peterson, Steve Walsh, Steve Devonne, Chris Hill and many many more.

Yesterday was the yearly Radio Invicta get-together in Wimbledon.
DJ's, helpers and friends met up for another great day.
Among the people attending was Peter St Crispian who together with Tony Johns started it all. Tony in Mitcham and Peter in Caterham found a way to start Londons first ever all soul station. A station that paved way for JFM, Kiss. Solar and many more.
DJ's attending yesterday were:
Peter St Crispian, Steve Leonards. Steve Chandler, Bob Adams. Roy King and Darren James

Thirtysix years today, we lost one of the most talented live djs of his generation.
STEVE WALSH
Walshie was a one off.
He helped raise the profile of Radio Invict in many ways.
As a dj, help putting broadcasts from tower blocks and offered his flat as a broadcast studio.
Very talented guy who could work a crowd like no other.
Plus he was a decent fella too.
Our thoughts are with his wife Sue and daughters today.
