There’s something alluring about morally grey characters. They live in the murky space between hero and villain, where their choices aren’t clean, their motivations get tangled, and their actions are often questionable. We’re drawn to these shady figures because they feel real! Sometimes we recognise ourselves in their contradictions. Others, it’s simply fun to put ourselves in their shoes. 🖤

What’s a bookish world you’d love to step into, just for a day? 🗝️📜

While the world of Alchemy of Secrets by Stephanie Garber is very much our own, we would love to step into Holland’s shoes for a day and experience the mystery and magic woven through LA’s urban myths and local legends just as she did.

Unfortunately, we can’t quite do that, but not so long ago, we came wonderfully close! To celebrate the release of Alchemy of Secrets, we hosted a magical afternoon tea with Stephanie, and it felt every bit as decadent, mysterious, and enchanting as the book itself. Set against a backdrop of rich teals and glowing golds, with the Watchman posted close by, it was easy to imagine the Professor herself opening the door and settling in to deliver one of her infamous lectures. With sweet treats, savoury bites, and plenty of fizz, it was the perfect way to celebrate such a phenomenal story. ✨

A huge thank you to our lovely guests, , and, of course, for making this afternoon so special! 🖤

The holiday season is almost upon us! 🌨️❄️

With that in mind, we wanted to share that FairyLoot’s customer support team will be working with limited availability from 19th December.

We will be fully out of the office from 25th December to 1st January, during which time customer support emails will not be monitored. Scheduled social media posts will continue as normal; however, we will not be available to assist with any queries during this period.

This is the kind of book you pick up to read “just a chapter”… and suddenly it’s hours later, and you’ve finished the whole thing! It’s raw, it’s ruthless, and it’s completely unputdownable!
