Jungle Leaders, a music group composed of Funky Fred, Sly D, and Del based in the United Kingdom is back again with another controversial song titled “Salone Dae Cry”.
The song narrates the challenges Sierra Leoneans are facing including drug pandemic, hunger, hardship and unemployment. “Salone Dae Cry” is a song that clearly defines the poor status of the country and the living standard of its citizens. The song also talks about the rampant drugs that are affecting and destroying the future generation.
Jungle Leaders also referenced the case of Sierra Leonean Canadian citizen, Hawa Hunt who was arrested and detained in Sierra Leone after she was alleged of insulting the President of Sierra Leone and his wife in a video. The singers also talked about the illegal drugs that were arrested at Guinea in the vehicle of the former Ambassador to Guinea. As the voice of the voiceless, the singers highlight many issues that Sierra Leoneans are facing.
According to Jungle Leaders, “Salon Dae Cry” song is not to criticise the authorities or promote violence. They believe in peace, unity, freedom and justice and uphold the rule of law. They asked their fans and Sierra Leoneans to respect the constitution and be responsible citizens.
