'That blue paper is no longer overlooked is due in no small part to Burns's immaculate telling of its story. This is a beautifully illustrated volume that functions equally well as a manual for identification and categorisation and as a fascinating scholarly study.'

We were greatly shocked and dismayed to learn of the death of Stephen Koob on June 13th at the age of 74. He was a friend of James Black (founder of Archetype Publications Ltd), since they met at the Institute of Archaeology, London in 1978. Archetype published his book Conservation and Care of Glass Objects in conjunction with Corning Museum of Glass in 2006.
Our thoughts are with his wife Lisa Goldberg and their sons Julian and Jeremy.
A world famous expert on the conservation of glass, he retired from his position at the Corning Museum in 2022. More information on Steve and his great knowledge and skill can be seen at https://people.cmog.org/bio/stephen-koob
