Steadicam Luke

Steadicam Luke Luke is a freelance Steadicam Operator who works in Feature Film, TV Drama, Music Promos, and Commercials.

Luke studied TV Production at Bournemouth University, specialising in Camera and Lighting, and graduated with a 1st Class (Hons) Degree. Luke's final year project was a visual journey through Aldwych, a disused station on a now defunct branch of the Piccadilly Line. 'Secret Station' has now had over a million hits on YouTube. After graduating Luke worked at an equipment hire company, gaining experience in the industry for several years. He then decided to invest in his own Steadicam equipment, and made the move into the freelance world. Luke now has professional Steadicam experience in shorts, feature films, music promos, corporates, and online commercials. Also, you'll notice my antlers down at the bottom of the sled - I've lost count how many ACs, grips, and DPs etc ask why I use them. Are they not so popular these days? Do any other Steadicam Ops out there still use them? Or do people mostly lean on the electronic stabilisation offered by the newer rigs...?
