How far would you go to relive a memory?

Blurring the lines between the past, present and future – Archivo showcases the emotional depth achievable through virtual production and innovative narrative techniques.

The short film tells the story of a man in rural Colombia revisiting a memory of his father using holographic technology. Archivo is a collaborative exploration into cross-platform storytelling and virtual production workflows – created by bully! entertainment, Dimension Studio, Metastage, and 8th Wall.

A few highlights from our team at Festival de Cannes 2025 🎬

Thank you to for having Steve Jelley (Dimension co-CEO) in a Variety Global Conversation Summit panel, hosted by Nick Vivarelli. The discussion centred on Italy’s growing international production from its tax incentives and five new soundstages coming to Cinecittà Studio, our partner studio in Rome. Read more about this panel in a write-up via our link in bio.

Plus, our CTO Callum Macmillan took to the Virtual Production Conference & Showcase Stage in a session hosted by ROE Visual. Callum discussed new VP innovations and presented hashtag , our new robotics-powered virtual production system that allows for dynamic and ‘impossible’ shots to be achieved in VP. See more on ViV, including a BTS of the system in-action on our previous post:

Our team has had an incredible experience at the Marché Du Film, joining panels, presenting innovations, and sharing upcoming projects... More to follow!

Dynamic motion for virtual production realised with our new solution: ViV.

Today, we’ve launched Vectored Imaging Volume - or ViV - the world-first robotics-powered virtual production system that makes VP more accessible than ever and allows for dynamic and ‘impossible’ shots to be achieved in VP.

ViV has been developed by our Dimension Futures team and CTO Callum Macmillan in collaboration with industry robotics expert Dickon Mitchell. With the system, filmmakers can use fewer LED panels of a higher quality, lowering production costs and making it more accessible to online, short-form and brand content creators.

Take a look at a behind-the-scenes, showcasing ViV in action supported by LED partner ROE on our site here: https://bit.ly/44yaYop

Adopting and rolling out AI across the business is a consideration that Dimension has taken seriously, and only wants to do in the most responsible way possible. As part of that, we’ve outlined our approach to AI deployment in a new policy which is available for anyone to read on our website.

‘Ethical and Responsible AI’ details what we mean when we say we’re taking a human-first approach to AI adoption, and outlines what considerations are being made throughout adoption. This is a document that will be continually updated as the technology continues to develop and our adoption changes.
