Often overlooked in favour of Granada’s magical colonial architecture or San Juan’s surf breaks, León is the fiery, revolutionary, rebellious soul of Nicaragua, with its colonial architecture, intellectual history, student life and home to renowned poets.

Nicaraguans re proudly obsessed with it. Where else can you sandboard down a black volcano, sip French roast in a colonial courtyard, and chant for the Virgin Mary in the streets all in one day?

On Writing a Continent’s Story - A conversation with acclaimed poet Leo Boix

Poet, translator and critic Leo Boix is a lyrical tour de force and a fire-keeper for a new generation of British Latinx writers.

Selected for The Telegraph’s ‘Best Poetry Books of 2025’ and shortlisted for the Forward Prizes for Poetry’ his new collection of poems ‘Southernmost: Sonnets’ bursts with beauty and colour.

We talk to one of Argentina’s greatest living diaspora poets, about his work, which weaves geography, cultural history, colonization, and naturalism as the backdrop for his own family history, growing up in Argentina.

Continuing with our series on Argentine music…🇦🇷🔥

We explore the sound shaking Argentina and beyond right now, born in Córdoba’s sweaty dancehalls.

Forget tango. Forget rock nacional. It’s all about cuarteto. Raw, relentless, working-class — the music of Saturday nights and fernet in plastic cups.

Eight decades strong, with legends like La Mona Jiménez still packing stadiums and new stars like Luck Ra, Q’ Lokura, Ulises Bueno and Ke Personajes storming playlists from Buenos Aires to New York, we explore how cuarteto is finally stepping onto the global stage.

Once upon a time there was a girl next door from in Buenos Aires, who played Disney princesses during her weekend shifts as children’s party entertainer.

Until one day…armed with a guitar and her phone, she became a Latin pop princess herself, her unabashed belief in the fairytale and collabs with Colombian prince charmings Manuel Turizo and Camilo, resonating with her 7.2 million monthly Spotify listeners and 5.9 million TikTok followers.

Today, Yami Safdie continues on her Cinderella whirlwind, having just released her latest single Luis, a Martin Cirio collaboration, for her fourth studio album, as she joins the plethora of Argentine female stars making waves in Latin music.

We talk to the princesa porteña with the magic wand on transforming from kids party princess to Latin pop Princess.

After mentoring Latin creatives on an informal basis for over 20 years, LatinoLife’s Mentoring Programme now formally supports creatives of Luso-Hispanic heritage on their career paths, through confidential sessions with a professional in their industry of interest or with the relevant experience.

LatinoLife’s carefully selected mentors have on average 20 years’ experience in their profession, have reached high positions in their careers and are widely respected in their industries, either in organisations or as freelancers.

The mentees can have started or be starting their careers in the UK or have professional experience in their own countries, but seek advice, knowledge or experience of the UK creative industry.

The relationship is beneficial for both the mentors (who develop by guiding others) and mentees (who develop by being guided).
