Adele Brydges

Adele Brydges Intimate objects and experiences for discerning pleasure seekers My passion for pleasure and porcelain has lead me on a wild, wonderful and unconventional path.

I studied a BA Hons in Ceramic Design but little did I know back then that my fascination with clay and sensuality would be start a long term love affair… After graduating in 2006 I began creating pleasure tools that celebrate sex, sensuality and connection and aim to challenge the way that we view masturbation, pleasure and sex toys. I founded my workshops in 2017 to enable others to bring creat

ivity, craft and a sense of fun to their pleasure practices with personalised porcelain pleasure tools; our capacity for pleasure expands when we combine it with intention, connection and our own creative juice! My workhops and pieces have been featured in Crafts Magazine, Marie Claire, Wall Paper, Grazia, Mashable and TimeOut and collaborations include Coco de Mer, Studio Sexus, Chakrubs, Noyau, Jay Rose Tattoo, Servadio and Brunello.

Excited to be showing new work in Sincerely later this week!

📬 Opening this week: Sincerely, our Summer Group Show, 20 artists, 2 exhibitions, 6 weeks of new work you won’t want to miss.

Sincerely, is a letter incomplete. The dialogue of this exhibition unfolds without a script, written instead in real time, between the works, during a transient moment of togetherness.

This is an exhibition where private process becomes public, after a year in the studios, the artists share what they’ve been building, breaking, questioning, and remaking. Expect sculpture, sound, moving image, performance, textiles and more.

📅 First Views: 31 July & 19 August, 6–8PM
🎭 Performances: 7 & 28 August
📍 Sarabande, N1 5SH

Sincerely, is not an ending, but a letter still being written. A conversation still unfolding. Book now via the link in our bio 🔗

A Thousand Different Women, 2025
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Drawing on my Irish heritage and the archetype of the Sheela na-gig, A Thousand Different Women honours the multiplicity of the female experience and reclaims the void as a site of wild, unapologetic feminine power. Fired with menstrual blood, hair, nails, and gathered organic matter, it speaks to shadow, strength, transformation, and the sacredness of taboo.
🌀 A threshold. A portal. A becoming.

Sometimes the biggest creative breakthroughs come after hitting a wall or even falling apart.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
This month marked eight months of my artist residency . I thought I’d be sharing the highlights of my artist residency as they unfolded, studio moments, works in progress, insights throughout. Instead, I slipped into a void.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
What I expected to be a period of loud wins and visible growth became something much quieter. More about unravelling and turning inwards than producing.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
But eventually, through still moments, dark nights, automatic drawings, and letting go of what I thought I should be doing, something started to emerge.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I’ve written about the blocks, the shift, and the unexpected beginning of a new body of work over on Substack.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
If you’re in a season of creative uncertainty, it might speak to you.

“We are bleeding at the roots, because we are cut off from the earth and sun and stars, and love is a grinning mockery, because, poor blossom, we plucked it from its stem on the tree of Life, and expected it to keep on blooming in our civilised vase on the table.” Sharon Blackie - If Women Rose Rooted

Shapes echoing shapes. K on Walmer beach, August 24.

Are you free this Thursday and in London? I’d love you to join me at the private view of my group show, Pinpoint. I’ll be showing the first in a new series of new sculptural works. This one is called Study For a Thousand Different Woman - it’s tiny but perfectly formed and fits perfectly in the palm of your hand.

This Sunday we’ll be hosting a day full of activations and workshops. Between 3-5pm I’ll also be hosting a drop in workshop called Palm Sized Stories where you can make a small piece to take away. I’ll also be creating mini soundscapes throughout the day with Crystal singing bowls.

Tickets are free. Link in bio to book.

As far back as I can remember, I’ve been fixated on the Siren and the Vamp. I couldn’t consume enough - myths, folklore, films, all of it. In hindsight, maybe it was the duality of my own experience that seduced me.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Like a moth to a flame, I was drawn to the feminine who fully embraced her passion, her desire, her pleasure, so fully, she was dangerous. Deadly, even.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
She wasn’t safe. She was feared.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Through her, pleasure meant annihilation. Death. Destruction. Surrender.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
She was everything the “nice girl” wasn’t - the antithesis of what society taught young women to be: quiet, humble, modest, polite. Respectful. Dependable. Grateful. Obedient.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
And I lapped up every facet of her.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
She was my gateway. A portal to embody all the parts of me that had been shamed and tamed. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Later on, as I’ve matured and as my relationship to my s*xuality evolved, I’ve come to know her as the Wild Woman. Not just the Siren of seduction, but the deep, intuitive force that lives in the bones. Untameable. Elemental. Free.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Society has always tried to cage her, naming her mad, dangerous, hysterical, sinful. Because a woman who listens to her body, who honours her desire, who chooses herself over pleasing others, that woman can’t be controlled.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Meeting the Wild Woman within me has meant calling back every exiled part.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Desire. Rage. Instinct. Pleasure. Grief.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
And learning to hold them all.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Integration, not elimination.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Wholeness, not perfection.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
And while I speak of her in feminine terms, the Wild Woman is an energy, an essence, a remembering that transcends form.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

B roll, Lower Walmer.

We also listened to this playlist to death that weekend. I’ll share in stories because it’s still such a great summer road trip vibe.

I’m deeply concerned about the UK Supreme Court ruling that redefines “s*x” under the Equality Act as strictly binary biological s*x.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
This decision doesn’t just impact trans people - it sets a precedent that could unravel protections for many marginalised communities. It reinforces exclusion, legitimises harm and sends the message that identity and safety are conditional.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Now more than ever, we need to support trans voices, resist the normalisation of exclusion, and protect each other.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Gender is a spectrum.

Please read, share, and support the organisations if you can.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
We all deserve to live with safety, dignity, and respect.
