A lot of people message to ask what the size of the house portrait models are. Hopefully this gives you some idea of scale. Each one is different but these two are the usual sizes I like to work. 1:50 scale seems to work best.

With most architectural models there is a lot of repeating detail, and I often make pieces to cast in a rubber mould. Occasionally I find something I’ve made in the past comes in handy for a new project, but this is a rare event. Just in case, I have kept nearly all of my original architectural features on the scraps of wood I used to make the moulds. This is my miniature architectural scrapyard..

I like to make as many parts of my models by hand as possible, but with some items 3D printing can be very useful. These tiny balusters were only a few millimetres high and I needed them all to be identical, so what better way could there be? I can recommend for their help.
