Elska is a bi-monthly male photography and culture bookazine. Each issue is made in a different city and features local boys and local stories.

Each issue is shot in a different city with local boys and local stories. Available in a classic printed version or a downloadable tablet/iPad version. The concept really is simple. Every two months we go to a different city, meet loads of local guys and ask if they'd like to be photographed and write a story for us. We don't hire professional models and there is no age, size, style or race criter

ia - everyone is welcome. We then shoot the guys in the city and in their homes, in their own clothes or sometimes in no clothes at all. Launched alongside our new Elska is this unique little zine dedicated to two rolls of film shot with Bon Markel, which we titled 'Ekstra Bon'. Amazingly, all 100 copies sold out within three days of its release, but there is some good news for you... A small amount were sent to Spacebar Zine shop at GalileOasis in Bangkok. If you can get there, you may be able to still nab a copy.

The theme of our 59th and latest issue exists mainly because of this guy. Having a name that means 'pumpkin' started the ball rolling towards an issue where every chapter and every elskan involves fruit in some way...

One of my favourite things about Elska is going to places people would never expect, like Regina or Trois-Rivières. Sadly, these decisions aren't supported by most customers, but it's an indulgence I can't resist. And I really couldn't resist this guy either (sorry for the terrible segue...

I think the Elska Regina cover is one of our best — a classic and classy pose but with a cheeky extra something. However, it's caused the end of an eleven-year relationship with a certain shop that's been faithfully selling every Elska. They refuse to carry this issue because of its cover, and so I decided to stop providing them with any future Elskas at all. I know that's bad business, but I'm sensitive and impulsive! And I stand by it...

When Russia invaded Ukraine, several hundreds of thousands left the country. Some of these ended up living in Kazakhstan. Despite the devastation caused my this upheaval, the vast majority of people we've met in this situation have shown nothing but gratitude for being welcomed into other countries...

A lot of our elskan stories are autobiographical, perhaps a story about how they came to live in a certain place or how they came out, but I love when people find unique ways to let us discover them. Roman's story in Elska Almaty was one of those — he wrote a tale about a series of different cats, letting us get to know him through his love for felines.

Our more analogue-y issue ever includes a roll of classic Kodak Ultramax on Nico Dorval for Elska Regina. Oh what punchy colours, developed perfectly by Studio l'Argentique. I thought Ultramax sounded too boring, too common, but I suppose it's popular for a reason!
