We help to celebrate James Thomsons big birthday (50) this weekend and are privileged he asked us to do a fundraiser as part of those celebrations. James will play at Bar Nothing on Saturday at 11.35pm and Sunday at The Sun Deck from 4pm

Closing set at Bar Nothing on Saturday and with a follow up on Sunday at The Sun deck we have Michelle Lynn.

Michelle’s Brunch Paradiso gigs in town have been running through most of this year and she has also been supporting the young girls at Grooveschool, lending her expertise and coaching them before gigs.

Michelle plays 12.30 on the Saturday at Bar Nothing and 8pm at The Sun Deck on Sunday.

Opening set for Grooveschool on Sunday at The Sun Deck is DAMO B.

Damo has been helping Grooveschool out since the off way back in 2011 and we’re very happy he came up with the idea of a fundraiser in Margate this Summer.

Margate resident for the last few years Damo is a great promoter putting on fantastic nights with everything he turns his head too. The Red Telephone his latest edition bringing a lot of pleasure to a lot of people.

Let’s hear it for DAMO can’t wait to spend some quality time with him

Gearing up for the weekend as we continue to introduce the DJs giving their time and talent for this weekends fundraiser. We welcome Craig Gardener to Grooveschool.

- Craig returned to his Thanet roots in 2021 after years on the London scene, where he co-founded the club night Option One and played everywhere from Brick Lane basements to Camden’s Roundhouse and Ibiza hilltops. With over 22 years’ experience, he’s played festivals, beach raves, and iconic venues, bringing high energy and a deep love of music to every set. Since moving back, Craig’s launched the family rave Creche Out! and its adult counterpart, while holding a monthly residency at Margate Beach Club.

We’re looking forward to Craig bringing the vibes to Bar Nothing on Saturday at 7:55pm.

We have two days of tunes for you as we celebrate James Thomsons 50th by having a party and fundraiser.

We kick things off at Bar Nothing on the Saturday from 5-7pm we have free workshop for children. Followed by a great selection of DJ’s from 7-1.30am.

We’re running exciting Grooveschool sessions in DJing, music production & podcasting – open to ages 10–19 (up to 25 for SEND), with all levels welcome.

✅ Neurodivergent-friendly
✅ Face-to-face or online options
✅ 1-to-1 and small group sessions
✅ Flexible dates available
✅ Led by professional DJs & producers

We’re also offering tailored 1-to-1 Creative Music Mentoring through RL Music Education – ideal for students who may be at risk of disengagement or struggling in mainstream settings. A proven way to build confidence, expression & focus through music tech.
