Trying to squeeze the last 5% on this one 🧑🏻‍🍳

In 2025, I was working on a garage beat and playing around with a few vocal samples.

Around the same time, I’d started mentoring sessions with the legendary I was going back through some of CeCe’s tracks and came across Moodlife, originally formed by and CeCe Rogers, and now led by CeCe’s son,

I played an R&B track they’d made called I’m Jus, featuring Alicia B. My wife was in the kitchen at the time and said, “Those vocals would probably sit nicely over that garage track you’ve been working on.”

So I tried it.

And it worked.

I played the very raw version to CeCe on our next call. He brought KJ in, and from there the collaboration started to take shape.

The result is a nostalgic UK garage track with house flavours, a touch of bassline, and the kind of energy you might have heard in the early 00s, but brought forward with today’s sound.
