SUSIE ASHFIELD, author of Just F**king Say It
‘Daunt’s bookshop in Holland Park has Hollywood form. Not in a twinkly, synthetic way, but in the way it always feels like the first day of Autumn inside. The way the last great characters of West London (and their dogs) shuffle around inside. The way it smells. The way it draws you in and wraps itself around you like the familiar feel of a favourite old jumper.’
JULIAN HOFFMAN, author of Lifelines
‘One of my favourite independent bookshops in the UK is The Bookery in Crediton, where I had the huge pleasure of being a guest bookseller earlier this year. Not only does it stock a fantastic range of books for all ages and interests, but it runs an amazing outreach programme for children and adults alike, making stories and reading accessible for everyone. It's a bookshop at the very heart of a community.’
ANDREW TURVIL, author of Blood, Sweat and Asparagus Spears
‘City Books has the well-worn appeal of a much-love first edition. It’s the perfect bookshop for a city like Brighton & Hove – political and spirited – and whether attending an event or just grabbed by a cover, theme, or an idea, I find it hard to leave without something in my hand (paid for, obviously!). A proper community bookshop for this unique community.’
