মুখে মুখে কাউকে আওয়ামী লীগের দোসর বানানো যায়। কিন্তু সে যদি সত্যিই আওয়ামী লীগের দোসর হতো, তাহলে জুলাই–আগস্ট মাসে এই আন্দোলনে নামলো কীভাবে? আমি নিজে মাঠে ছিলাম, নিজের চোখে দেখেছি—মির মাহেদী তখন ছাত্রদের পাশে ছিল, আন্দোলনের সঙ্গে ছিল। সে সময় সে কীভাবে অন্যায়ের বিরুদ্ধে দাঁড়িয়েছে, সেটা অনেকেই জানে।
অকারণে কাউকে হয়রানি না করে, যারা সত্যিই দেশের ক্ষতি করেছে, যারা দমন-পীড়ন আর লুটপাটের সঙ্গে জড়িত ছিল—তাদের পেছনেই লাগা উচিত। মিথ্যা অপবাদ দিয়ে কাউকে দোষী বানালে ন্যায়ের লড়াই দুর্বল হয়।
