What an incredible start to Camden’s Black History Season 2025 🌟🥁

Friday’s launch at was filled with energy, creativity and connection. Our brilliant host .xyz guided the evening with warmth and heart, as Cllr Sabrina Francis and Mayor of Camden Eddie Hanson rooted us in this year’s theme: “Standing Firm in Power and Pride.”

We were warmly welcomed by Laura Wright, CEO of The Postal Museum, who generously opened their doors for this special event, giving us the chance to explore their current exhibition Voices of Resistance: Slavery and Post in the Caribbean.

Of course, no Love Camden celebration is complete without an incredible dose of culture. Britny Virginia gave a powerful spoken word performance full of rhythm, emotion and audience participation, while brought pure joy and infectious energy, filling the room with music, dance and celebration (even the Mayor couldn’t resist joining in!). 🥁

It was a great chance to connect before a busy season, share ideas and get excited for all that’s in store

Now it’s time to dive into the programme! Explore what’s on at lovecamden.org/blackhistoryseason — link in bio.
