He’s closer to a trillion dollars than any human in history.

According to Forbes, Elon Musk has seen his net worth surge to over $700 billion, putting him firmly within striking distance of the trillion-dollar mark — a territory no individual has ever reached before.

Born in Pretoria, South Africa, Musk’s journey from the African continent to becoming the world’s wealthiest person remains one of the most dramatic wealth stories of modern capitalism. From PayPal to Tesla, SpaceX, and AI, the value of companies linked to him has pushed his fortune into levels once thought impossible.

At over $700 billion, Musk is now closer to $1 trillion than to any other financial milestone, reshaping how the world talks about wealth, power, and influence in the 21st century.

If the trajectory continues, history may soon record the first individual to stand at the trillion-dollar threshold.

One man close to a trillion dollars… what would you do with just 1%?

Africa holds 60% of the world’s uncultivated arable land…

Yet imports $43 billion worth of food every year.

This video makes an uncomfortable argument that Africa’s food crisis isn’t about climate, laziness, or population, but about an economic system that never really ended.

From cash crops to food imports,
from fertile land to foreign dependency, this is a question many prefer not to sit with.

If food is power, then who really controls Africa’s future?

Watch. Reflect. Argue if you must.

And follow for African stories that refuse to stay quiet.

The Elephants refuse to go down! 🇨🇮🐘

Côte d’Ivoire pulls off an epic New Year’s Eve comeback, rising from 2-0 down to beat Gabon 3-2. With a stoppage-time winner from teenage star Bazoumana Touré, the defending champs sn**ch the top spot in Group F! 🎆🔥

📌 FUN FACTS:

1️⃣ Côte d’Ivoire trailed 2-0 after just 21 minutes following goals from Guelor Kanga and Denis Bouanga. This was the first time the “Elephants” had successfully overturned a two-goal deficit in an AFCON match since 2006.

2️⃣ 19-year-old Bazoumana Touré scored his first-ever international goal with a dramatic diving header in the 91st minute to seal the win.

3️⃣ Gabon’s captain and legend Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang missed the match entirely due to an injury. Reports suggested he had already departed for France before kickoff as Gabon was already mathematically eliminated.

4️⃣ Gabon’s opening goal came in the 11th minute after a “glaring mistake” by Ivorian keeper Alban Lafont, who misjudged a cross and left his net wide open for Guelor Kanga to pounce.

5️⃣ After scoring in the first two group games, Amad Diallo failed to find the net in this match, missing out on becoming the first Ivorian to score in all three group games at a single AFCON.

6️⃣ Christopher Operi came off the bench and provided the assists for both the equalizer (84’) and the winning goal (91’), earning him the Man of the Match award.

7️⃣ In the 95th minute, Côte d’Ivoire thought they had scored a fourth through Yan Diomande, but the goal was ruled out for offside after a tense VAR review.

A New Year’s Eve stunner in Agadir! 🇨🇲🇲🇿

Cameroon edges past Mozambique 2-1 to finish top of Group F, thanks to a Christian Kofane rocket. While the Indomitable Lions stay unbeaten, the Mambas celebrate their historic first-ever trip to the Round of 16! 🦁🐍

📌 FUN FACTS:

1️⃣ Christian Kofane scored the winner in the 55th minute with an absolute “rocket” of a strike. It was his first major tournament goal and arguably the best goal of the group stages.

2️⃣ Cameroon’s first goal was a bizarre own goal by Mozambique’s Nene in the 30th minute. After Frank Magri’s shot hit the post, Nene accidentally turned the rebound into his own net while attempting to clear it.

3️⃣ Mozambique took a shock lead in the 20th minute through a sensational long-range curler from Geny Catamo. He became the first Mozambican to score in back-to-back AFCON games since 2023.

4️⃣ With this win, Cameroon has now won eight consecutive matches against Mozambique. The Mambas haven’t beaten the Indomitable Lions since their first-ever meeting in 1983.

5️⃣ Mozambique’s Ivane made several massive saves in the first half to deny Danny Namaso and Kofane, while Cameroon’s Devis Epassy had to make a flying save against Gildo Lourenço to prevent a 2-2 draw.

6️⃣ Despite the loss, Mozambique had already made history by qualifying for the Round of 16 for the first time ever. They finished third in the group but progressed as one of the best third-placed teams.

7️⃣ Cameroon coach David Pagou rotated his squad, handing a start to Christian Kofane who replaced the suspended Junior Tchamadeu—a move that paid off perfectly with the winning goal.

The Stallions gallop into the Round of 16! 🇧🇫🇸🇩

Burkina Faso secures second place in Group E with a professional 2-0 win over Sudan in Casablanca. Between Lassina Traoré’s clinical header and a crucial penalty miss by Sudan, the Stallions showed why they are one of Africa’s most consistent teams! 🐎🔥

📌 FUN FACTS:

1️⃣ Sudan had a golden opportunity to equalize in the 26th minute after winning a penalty. However, Al Gozoli Nooh sent his shot wide, missing a chance to change the momentum of the game.

2️⃣ Lassina Traoré opened the scoring in the 16th minute with a clinical header at the back post. This was his 13th international goal for the Stallions, proving his worth after a VAR heartbreak earlier in the tournament.

3️⃣ Arsène Kouassi sealed the victory late in the second half. His shot took a slight deflection, completely wrong-footing the Sudanese keeper to make it 2-0 and secure automatic qualification.

4️⃣ Burkina Faso goalkeeper Herve Koffi was instrumental, making three world-class saves in the first half—including a point-blank stop right after the missed penalty—to preserve the clean sheet.

5️⃣ By qualifying for the Round of 16, Burkina Faso has now reached the knockout stages in four consecutive AFCON tournaments, setting a new record for the nation.

6️⃣ This win marked Herve Koffi’s second clean sheet of the group stage. The Stallions’ defense has been exceptionally disciplined, conceding only once (to Algeria) in three games.

7️⃣ Even with the loss, Sudan’s three points from their previous win over Equatorial Guinea were enough to see them qualify for the Round of 16 as one of the best third-placed teams.

Algeria is unstoppable! 🇩🇿🦊

The Desert Foxes sweep Group E with a perfect record after a 3-1 victory over Equatorial Guinea. From maiden goals for Belaïd and Maza to a Fares Chaïbi stunner, the 2019 champions are heading into the Round of 16 in terrifying form!

📌 FUN FACTS:

1️⃣ Algeria finished the group stage with three wins from three matches, scoring seven goals and conceding only one. This is their best group-stage performance since their title-winning run in 2019.

2️⃣ Both Zineddine Belaïd and Ibrahim Maza scored their first senior international goals during this match. Belaïd opened the scoring in the 19th minute, while 20-year-old Maza added the third just before halftime.

3️⃣ Following his goal against Sudan in the opener, Ibrahim Maza became the youngest Algerian player in history to score two goals in a single AFCON tournament.

4️⃣ Despite the loss, Equatorial Guinea legend Emilio Nsue scored a brilliant long-range strike in the 50th minute. This was his seventh career AFCON goal, moving him further up the all-time scoring charts.

5️⃣ Having already qualified, coach Vladimir Petković made eight changes to his starting lineup. Even with a “B-team,” Algeria raced into a 3-0 lead within the first 32 minutes.

6️⃣ This marked the first time in history that Equatorial Guinea failed to progress beyond the AFCON group stages. In all four of their previous appearances (2012, 2015, 2021, and 2023), they had reached at least the quarter-finals.

7️⃣ Farès Chaïbi’s 25th-minute goal was a highlight reel moment; he dribbled past three defenders before smashing the ball into the top corner.

Ugandan President Yoweri Museveni didn’t just watch the match…

He called the team in for questioning like it's a military briefing. 😂🇺🇬

“Why did the goalkeeper leave his post?”
“Where was the fullback??”
“Why did everybody go to attack?”

Football press conference turned interrogation real quick. ⚽🤣

Imagine your president asking you to explain your area of responsibility after a match.

What would YOU say if you were that goalkeeper?

Dangote Cement has shed light on why its product sometimes sells cheaper outside Nigeria than within the country.

In a recent explanation, the company said export shipments avoid many domestic financial burdens.

“When cement is exported, it does not carry the same local taxes, levies, and compliance costs we face in Nigeria,” Dangote noted.

These domestic charges raise production and distribution costs, resulting in higher retail prices for Nigerian buyers.

Analysts say this reflects a larger challenge in Nigeria’s business climate as multiple taxation, energy costs, and logistics increase local production expenses.

Meanwhile, export markets pay less because the cost structure is lighter, making Dangote cement more competitive abroad.

Should essential materials like cement get tax relief to make housing more affordable?
