We were commissioned by Volant Media to create a commemorative film for the third anniversary of Mahsa Amini’s death, honouring those who lost their lives protesting for freedom in Iran.
The concept was simple but powerful: 663 origami cranes, each handwritten in Persian with the name of someone who died. Suspended in space. Coming together to form the words that continue to resonate around the world: زن، زندگی، آزادی
Woman. Life. Freedom.
It took time to make this piece. Every frame was carefully built around a single camera move, shot in Studio 1 using the Cinebot Mini on track, Alexa Mini LF, Canon K35s and the DZO Xtract probe. No spectacle. No drama. Just precision, light and intention.
This film wasn’t about showcasing technical kit or studio trickery. It was about helping tell a story that already mattered, and continues to matter. We just gave it shape, form and space.
