➡️ Here’s how AirDrop works between Android and iPhone using Quick Share and Apple’s sharing system. I walk through exactly how I set up cross-device sharing, enable the right settings on both phones, and send files between Android and iPhone.
🤔One thing I forgot to mention: if your Apple devices don’t appear on Android, or vice versa, and you’re using a Samsung phone, head into Settings / Connected devices / Quick Share, then make sure “Share with Apple devices” is enabled. After that, follow the steps shown in the video and it should work normally. Keep in mind that after installing One UI 8.5, you may need to restart your phone the first time you use the feature. It’s also recommended to keep all devices connected to the same network for the best experience.
✅ Android devices that support AirDrop:
Android phones with AirDrop-style sharing support now include the Google Pixel 10 series, Pixel 9 series, Pixel 8a, Samsung Galaxy S26 series, Oppo Find X9 series, Oppo Find N6, and the Vivo X300 Ultra.
⏳Support is also coming soon to the Galaxy S25 and S24 series, Galaxy Z TriFold, Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Flip 7, Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Flip 6, Oppo Find X8 series, OnePlus 15, Honor Magic V6, and Honor Magic 8 Pro. Keep in mind that this list could grow in the coming weeks and months, and it was accurate at the time this video was published. Be sure to double-check your manufacturer’s website to see if your device is supported.
🤔 Does this work with Mac computers as well?
Yes, compatible Android devices can also detect and share files with supported Mac devices, not just iPhones and iPads. I’ve tested AirDrop between my 16” MacBook Pro and my Galaxy Z Fold 6, and it worked flawlessly.
