Folio celebrates Chu-Chieh Lee’s ( ) 'Professional Overall Winner' win at the 2025 World Illustration Awards for her self-initiated animated short film "Minus Plus Multiply"! 🎉🎉🎉

This short film reflects her experience living in the UK as an Asian female. It explores the emotional challenges of a female immigrant building a new life in the UK, away from her safe space where her family, partner and friends are.

Chu-Chieh used a variety of techniques (2D animation, stop motion, 3D printing, laser cutting, pottery and ceramics) to create this film and it has been screened in over 50 animation festivals around the world!

Set your course for the 48th edition of the Clermont-Ferrand International Short Film Festival , taking place from January 30th to February 7th, 2026.

We are pleased to announce that this coming year the festival poster is illustrated by Karolis Strautniekas ( ). Inspired by his trip to the 47th Festival earlier this year, Karolis embodies the spirit of the festival with his reimagining of the iconic silhouette of Clermont-Ferrand's cathedral into an epic ship. With it's raised sails hinting towards the cinema screens themselves, ready to take viewers on an epic voyage of cinema and stories.

It’s a very exciting Monday here at Folio as we have a new artist announcement to kick off the week! Joining Folio’s Showcase is the marvellous Kei-Ella Loewe !🎉

Kei-Ella Loewe is an illustrator from South Africa, currently based in The Netherlands. Through her illustrations she enjoys expressing emotions and playing with dreamy, colourful and feminine concepts. Her work particularly focuses on narrative and storytelling, capturing a moment for audiences to digest visually. Her style features both realistic elements and a line-work based illustrative style that appeals to a wide variety of clients in publishing, advertising and beyond!
