**Miracle in Kebbi: Farmer Rescues Newborn Baby Buried Alive, Embraces Her as Family**
In an astonishing act of courage and compassion, Kebbi farmer Kabiru Kamba unearthed a newborn baby girl buried alive in his farmland—a discovery that has since transformed his family’s life.
The incredible rescue unfolded on Friday, June 27, when Kamba noticed an unusual ridge in his farm in Kamba town, Dandi Local Government Area. Driven by curiosity, he flagged down passing motorcyclists to help him dig.
“As we dug, we found a wrapper buried in the soil—that’s when I knew something was wrong,” Kamba recounted. He immediately alerted nearby police officers, who rushed to the scene. Their efforts revealed a miracle: a tiny baby girl, still alive and crying, wrapped in a piece of cloth beneath the earth.
Moved by her plight, Kamba and his wife opened their hearts and home to the child. “It was only natural to help. I couldn’t turn away,” he said. The Dandi local government council granted him temporary custody while police investigations continue.
For Kamba’s family, the timing felt like fate. His wife had recently given birth, making breastfeeding the rescued infant seamless. “We’ve already planned her naming ceremony for Wednesday,” Kamba shared. “I bought a ram and everything we need. By Allah’s grace, she will have a name and a future with us.”
His wife, radiating joy, embraced their new role. “The moment my husband told me, my heart was full. I’ll care for her as my own,” she promised.
This heartwarming story of survival and love has captivated Kebbi, proving that even in darkness, humanity can shine its brightest.
