Spotted one of those 'skinny reels' on Instagram? Here's the visual psychology behind why the trend works...
π§ Itβs a Pattern Interrupt: The cinematic format is a visual jolt in a full-screen feed that stops the scroll.
π€ It creates a Curiosity Factor: The unusual framing makes viewers pause, question what they're seeing, and engage.
β¨ It feels premium: Being deliberately different makes your content feel more artistic and intentional.

We have a joined-up approach Loving social media was born from a love of digital communication and the passion for guerrilla marketing over 10 years ago I discovered Myspace and then Facebook could do wonders for my optical business in then evolved for me doing friends social media then hiring an apprentice her salary was covered for all the friends and colleagues social media. Thankfully, at the beginning of February, I had gone back to my social media roots and had started up an SEO (Search Engine Optimisation) section to my old business, which had been lying dormant. That was the beginning of βLoving Social Media SEOβ.
I had also been thinking about writing another book, and in February my book about happiness was finally finished and published. The timing was superb and helped to boost my confidence after my recruitment disaster.
By March I had started my Loving Local Online Show where I was interviewing local personalities. This soon became a big hit with the local community. I had been making short videos for a long time, either just speaking myself or talking to others and posting them online, but this was taking them to a whole new level and they were now attracting more people to my social media business, as they soon realized what huge impact videos could have for their own business. We now have an online directory and a Facebook group of 17,000 local people. It makes a small income but great for lead generation https://loving-local.com/
In April I had the privilege of becoming the new president for the Vision Chapter of BNI, one of the local networking groups. Another confidence booster although it has meant a lot of extra work.
