White Space as Part of a Narrative Landscape

Take a look behind the scenes at some of the design issues with which we wrestle, every day.

In our latest editorial piece, The Eloquence of the Void (White), Lebled Soloviev house writers meets head designer Daniel for an exploration of how negative space shapes our perception.

What does white communicate in art, design, and space? Is it an absolute absence, or a canvas charged with infinite potential?

Archives de Motifs - Etienne Viollet

What happens when traditional decorative patterns meet a whimsical, subconscious mind?

Welcome to our new collection, Archives de Motifs, dedicated to exploring the applied decorative arts. We couldn’t have asked for a more brilliant debut than its inaugural volume: Etienne Viollet.

Wallpaper aesthetics are turned on their head, in dark pastoral landscapes where winged whales, bird-beak keys, and surreal, playful hybrids come to life.

Viollet’s work walks the razor’s edge between quiet whimsy and uncanny mystery.
Explore his surreal, beautiful, and delightfully absurd world.

Artist Review : Emanuel de Sousa

What turns an architect into a chef?

We caught up with Emanuel de Sousa, head chef behind the new Rosa et Al recipe book: Supper Club. Beautifully shot by photographer Daniel Zachrisson, it’s a cookbook with a difference — determined to break down the bones of each dish and make restaurant-quality food accessible for home cooks.

Read about de Sousa’s approach, his philosophy, and why being an outsider has served him well.

The Supper Club by Townhouse Kitchen

There are no strangers here; only friends you haven’t met yet

That’s the philosophy behind a supper club, where you gather with strangers over a shared meal.

Patricia and Emanuel de Sousa have brought that philosophy to Porto, and now to the world in their latest publication. Supper Club is a meditative exploration of the recipes, heritage, and hospitality background that have led the siblings to open their kitchen and their doors to strangers.
