🎶 HOUSEHOLD DIVISION MUSICIAN OF THE YEAR 2026 🎶
Meet another of this year’s finalists: Musician Rebecca Coleman of the Band of the Grenadier Guards.
Rebecca began playing the flute at the age of seven, later becoming Principal Flautist of the Nottingham Youth Orchestra and a piccolo player with the National Youth Wind Orchestra. She studied at the Royal Birmingham Junior Conservatoire before completing her Bachelor of Music (Hons) degree at the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire. Alongside performing, Rebecca developed a passion for composition and arranging, producing an album of her own original works for her final project.
Rebecca joined the British Army in September 2024 and the Band of the Grenadier Guards in September 2025 as a flute and piccolo player. She recently took part in her first King’s Birthday Parade.
Away from music, Rebecca is also a photographer for the Army Motorsport Team and has been selected to cover events within a professional motorsport championship.
