🗣️ International Co-Production Case Study: "ORANG IKAN" at Atmovie Global Track

Our Director of International Sales & Producer, Fumie Suzuki Lancaster, was invited to lead an online seminar on international co-production for the Japanese fellows of the (AGT) program today.

Using "ORANG IKAN" (aka MONSTER ISLAND), a co-production between Singapore, Indonesia, the UK, and Japan, as a case study, Fumie shared practical insights into the co-production process from the perspectives of both a producer and a sales agent, discussing its opportunities, challenges, and key lessons.

The session sparked lively discussions, with participants asking so many questions that the seminar extended to nearly two hours.

The AGT fellows are currently developing projects for international co-production, and five recently pitched their projects to the industry professionals at AGT events during the Cannes Film Festival.

Fumie will continue to support the AGT fellows as a Support Producer, providing guidance and mentorship as they further develop their projects and pursue international co-production opportunities 🤝🏻🎞️

✨📣 Introducing "FUJIKO"

We're thrilled to announce Taichi Kimura's highly anticipated second feature "FUJIKO", produced by MEGUMI.

Set in Shizuoka, Japan, during the 1970s and 80's, FUJIKO draws on director Kimura's own family history, following a single mother's pursuit of personal freedom amid the social upheaval of the era.

“FUJIKO” will world premiere at Italy’s udine FAR EAST FILM festival , followed by a German premiere as the Opening Film of Nippon Connection - Japanese Film Festival , before opening theatrically across Japan on June 5.

SC Films will present the film as part of its Cannes Film Market slate next month.
