I wrote a tune, nearly finished, and sent it for feedback. Feedback was good, actionable stuff. I got in front of the laptop and then blank, no inspiration. So I started working in another project which goes against the advice I received. What would you have done?

Part 2 Refurbishing my god son Jesse's first drum kit- started out with the floor tom which was in a pretty bad way, a couple of hours work de rusting parts, fixing rosettes and legs added a fresh reso and skin.

Long overdue collaboration with

Blending two styles is always a lot of fun. Bouncing ideas off each other, learning each other's skills and having a laugh is what we love about music collaborations. We managed to get the masterloop to a good stage. We will now carry this project on separately and meet in a few weeks to finish it off.

Let the music do the talking!

In this series I'll be sharing with you the tracks that me fall in love with Trance and the tracks that shape my sound.

This week is a track released in 1999 by none other than Atmos, one the first trance artist I discovered as a teenager. The track is called "The only process" released on TIP record. A track that has been remixed countless times by so many artists but I am yet to find one that has hit the spot like the OG mix.

Fixed a broken speaker today using a driver from an even older dead one. Little frankenstein moment in the studio lol.
But it got me thinking — that's literally how I treat sound too. Nothing actually dies in here. Old recordings, loops I gave up on, stems that never made the cut... none of it's trash, it's just not in the right box yet.
Resample it, mangle it, stretch it till it's unrecognizable, and that "failed" track becomes the exact texture holding your new one together. Happens more than I'd like to admit.
