For 60 years, the Vallar family dominated tattooing in Scotland.

Prince Vallar began tattooing in Scotland in 1905 and taught his eldest son Robert, how to tattoo.

Bert Vallar worked with his father at their shop at 404 Argyle Street, Glasgow and continued tattooing after Prince’s death in 1947.

In a 1963 newspaper interview, he claimed he tattooed between 60-70 men a week.

His prices ranged from 2 shillings and went up to £7 for a tattoo on your chest.

He also stated that he did not tattoo women or anyone under 17 years of age!
