our story so far
Moving into our 9th year in 2020, Eyewear Publishing, of London, UK, is now one of the world’s best-known indie small presses, when it comes to poetry, politics and pop culture. And we’ve joined imprints with Black Spring Press to be be even more resilient in these tough times. We have had books recommended by Stephen Fry and Bear Grylls - and won or been shortlisted for major prizes. We publish a diverse international list of poets young and old, new and established, including Paul Muldoon, Maria Apichella (A New Statesman 2017 Book of the Year author). Fuelled by a DIY ethic, we work with musicians and punk icons like Keaton Henson and Pete Shelley of Buzzcocks, often launching our books at the infamous indie music venue the Windmill in Brixton. We also publish novels, like the YA classic, The Boy From Aleppo Who Painted The War, and The Lost Weekend, a 9-Oscar winner. Some of our books have been indie best-sellers. Others, not so much. But we support eccentric, and brilliant, talent, and are outspoken champions of free speech, beautifully-designed books, and exciting live events, in a world that needs more poetry, more smart reading material, and more fun.
