As part of that study researchers looked at goal-setting and found that just having a pet physically or cognitively present at the time of the activity increased peopleā€™s number of life goals and self-confidence in achieving them!

Iā€™m not taking anything away from any one who has been deeply affected by the loss of a loved one, I have been too, but for many people, losing a pet isnā€™t any less than any other kind of loss

A new research survey found that the grief people experience after a petā€™s death can be just as intense and long-lasting as grief after losing a human family member

Among nearly 1,000 adults surveyed, some showed symptoms consistent with prolonged grief disorder, including deep yearning and disruptions to daily life šŸ’”

The researchers say that these findings challenge the idea that pet loss is something people should simply get over, arguing that the emotional bond and the pain when itā€™s broken is often profound

Personally I think it very much depends on the individual, the bond youā€™ve shared (with either your human or your pet) and the surrounding experiences
