One other reason why we are extremely excited about our event tomorrow is because we get to see Ruth Binfor's unique and beautiful images, don't miss this opportunity to see her work!

This is all getting very exciting as our THIRD artist has been confirmed for our event in June. Introducing Ruth Binfor;

Ruth Binfor graduated from London College of Communication with a BA in Surface Design. During this period Ruth's work primarily focussed on print with a style characterised by strong key line images.

However now, her work combines photography and graphic images. This broad medium allows the exploration of a wide range of potential designs. It has sophistication - pushing boundaries between flat surfaces and more constructed elements even if the final piece remains 2D. Ideas of interruption and dissection are heavily evidenced in her work.

Books are the inspiration for her current body of work. The way books are constructed is important. The words written are significant. The shapes that books create are fundamental. Using a 3D workshop the books have initially been crafted and sculpted and then photographed.
Despite the fact that Ruth's work contains upto 80 separate
photographs it retains a clear sense of order The photographs translate directly into her final wall art.

There is a clear exploration of how three dimensional books can be turned into two dimensional wall pieces - using no more than four separate photographs of one book. Overall Ruth's current portfolio (found at www.rrbdesign.com) reflects her growing enthusiasm with photography with outcomes of not only 2D wall art but also wallpaper as well as sculpture.

Only one day to go until Kensington's Cultural Feast! And not only you be excited to all the fantastic bands we've got lined up, also because you'll be seeing the beautiful paintings and prints of Sarah Pearl Kazi.. Read below for more information on her work

An image from one of our confirmed artists for our event on the 7th June - The Very talented Sarah Pearl Kazi. Here is a bit on Sarah's work in her own words:

'My recent works are on issues of my identity. Who am I? Do I want to
be stereotyped with any preconceived term? Is my work now diasporic?

My paintings can be considered biographical but I’m not trying to make
any political statement of my identity, culture or my sense of
belonging in a new culture that I have now adopted. I realize my
identity today is all tangled up with so many influences and changes;
some changes consciously scripted, some not but do I need to untangle
them at all? Instead of finding any coherence in it, sometimes I’m
happy being in this state of flux.

Since the past summer I see my works getting a sudden shift in their
styles and concepts. I would consider myself as a nomadic artist
presently, my paintings travelling everywhere till they find a
destination some day or maybe not…

Currently my works and I are in a moment of transition, trying to
negotiate with new concepts and maybe through that one day forge my
own free identity?'
