'1923' continues filming 'Yellowstone' prequel in tiny town outside Austin Studios
As filming continues for one of TV's biggest western sagas, another quaint Central Texas town is set to be under the bright lights of Hollywood.
Taylor Sheridan's 1923 will be filming in Bartlett, about 50 miles north of Austin, on August 19 and 20, according to a July 31 Legacy Casting post. The Yellowstone prequel began shooting scenes for season 2 of the show this summer in Austin and more recently Lockhart, which acted as a backdrop for 1920s Fort Worth.
Legacy Casting is still seeking men, women and children to work as 1923 extras in and around Austin. Filming is expected to last from July 8 to mid-September, bringing an over $50 million economic boost to the City of Austin.
In Bartlett, the show is casting background roles for sheriff's deputies, men in suits, women townsfolk, construction workers, servers and bartenders for filming August 19. On August 20, the show needs people to play men in suits, women townsfolk, kid townsfolk, women switchboard operators, U.S. Soldiers, Comanche Men, Comanche Women, and Comanche Kids, according to the Legacy Casting post.
There will be a required fitting in Austin paid at $35 and men interested in any of the roles must be willing to shave, trim or alter facial hair to be in 1920s-style. Tattoos cannot be visible on hands, forearms, neck or face and non-removable jewelry is not allowed.
