I love bold patterns for kaftan, bubu and a-line outfits so I was going to sew an a-line halter neck dress with this fabric but changed my mind lol. The beauty of making my own dresses is that I can change my mind as many times along the way until the final stitch lol.

I made this beautiful 2 piece outfit instead of a dress. Sleeveless front button A-line blouse with mandarin collar and a gathered elasticated skirt with drawstrings and pockets.

Of cherished memories, mementos and sewing.

This dress is special to me. It used to be a long bubu that belonged to my mum and it was one of her dresses I have as a memento.

I have altered it to suit me but I retained the main feature of the dress, the beautiful embroidery. This dress is dated, at least 30 years old but looks beautiful still. I will always cherish it.
