Jukka Untamala conducts the Kuopion kaupunginorkesteri in a concert to mark the city of Kuopio's 250th anniversary.

The anniversary celebrations culminated in the Kuopio Symphony Orchestra’s Festive Finale concert on 20 November.

Hosted by Virpi Rautsiala and conducted by Jukka Untamala, the concert opened with Atso Almila’s Kuopio250 overture and fanfare, followed by three songs from the City Theatre’s anniversary musical The Perfect Recipe. The highlight of the evening was a commissioned work: a concerto composed by Antti Auvinen for percussionist Mika Kallio, and the concert concluded with Jean Sibelius’s beloved Symphony No.2.
