British composer Hannah Kendall's music features regularly in UK concerts over the coming months, including the UK premiere of her piece Weroon Weroon at the on August 31.

On Wednesday 24 September we're performing her piece ... I Will Turn To Salt in our concert at Derby Cathedral featuring oboe legend Nicholas Daniel.

We're excited to be working with Nicholas on this concert which combines Hannah's new music with an all-time favourite, Mozart's Oboe Concerto.

Nicholas Daniel is both conducting and playing the oboe in our Mozart's Oboe Concerto concert on Wednesday 24 September. He is also the Artistic Director of the Leicester International Music Festival, which takes place from September 17 to 20 2025.

He says:

"LIMF 2025 ‘Vibrant Landscapes’ celebrates three extraordinary voices: Franz Schubert, whose chamber music still breaks and mends hearts in equal measure; Maurice Ravel, whose 150th birthday gives us the perfect excuse to immerse ourselves in his ravishingly colourful world; and Emma-Ruth Richards, who brings a bold personal voice to the festival with works including the world premiere of her collaboration with poet Nic Chalmers, Still Life. ‘Vibrant Landscapes’ allows these composers to speak across time, and to draw us as listeners into the depths and details of their musical worlds. To perform this music, I’ve brought together some of my friends to form a unique and world-class team. I know this music will provide lasting memories for you as it will for me."
