Before the flashback started, Hajrudin told Loki that he has to explain everything in three minutes. These three minutes have filled more than 10 chapters until now, and will definitely need even more to finish up.Now for the devil fruit: The existence of the hito hito no mi, model: sun god and model: daibutsu implies that there are other gods as well. Mqybe a forest god, earth god or even a sea god. The only possible explanation for how Loki managed to fit this much story in three minutes is that he is spitting bars at at least 4.28 word per second meaning he has the hito hito no mi, model: rap god

One Piece is hinting that Kaido never wanted to kill Whitebeard in the Summit War Saga, but wanted to help the former crewmate he admired.Now that we’ve witnessed his past with the Rocks Pirate, there’s a possibility that Kaido wanted to assist his former crewmate because he looked up to him.

From what we’ve witnessed of Kaido’s past, you could surmise that he went on to admire Whitebeard. They were rival Emperors in the present timeline, but they were first and foremost crewmates. Knowing how paternal Newgate was and that Rocks was also a loving father, he longed for a bond with them.

Thus, it changes the way we see Kaido intercepting Whitebeard on his way to Marineford. While it’s more likely that the antagonist was out for blood, it’s interesting to see the other side of it. Perhaps he made an army, not out of cruelty, but also to live up to Rocks’ legacy.Once Whitebeard died, however, he no longer had the two people he admired. Rocks had long perished, and so did his former crewmate. Shanks’ intervention had made sure he wouldn’t be able to assist. This also makes his attempted su***de more tragic, as he could have been grieving instead.Is Kaido more layered than he’s shown to be, or is this take a reach?

GURA GURA NO MI"

In the light of the latest chapter, what if the Gura Gura no Mi capability to destroy the world refers to it’s ability to kill Imu?

Imu seems was said by Rocks to be the “world” itself. If we interpret the “world” that can be destroyed as the World Government’s regime, then the Gura Gura no Mi might have a symbolic destiny:

“The power to destroy the world” = “The power to destroy Imu.”

That would make Blackbeard’s choice to steal the fruit from Whitebeard intentional, carrying on Xebec’s will, not random greed. He could be collecting powers that specifically counterbalance the gods of the world (e.g., darkness against light, destruction against divine rule).

We can assume that BlackBeard will be going after Imu and it would make sense that he went after the devil fruit with the ability to destroy the “world”, Imu.

The latest chapters of the manga hint at something deeper between Whitebeard (Shirohige) and Kaido during their time under Rocks D. Xebec.

Back then, Shirohige treated Kaido almost like a younger brother. In one scene, Kaido watched in awe as Whitebeard unleashed the power of the Gura Gura no Mi, admitting that he wished to have such strength someday. But instead of boasting, Whitebeard told him:

“Choosing your Devil Fruit shouldn’t be impulsive… it’s a decision that will shape your destiny forever.”

Years later, when Kaido heard Whitebeard was sailing to Marineford alone, he didn’t see bravery — he saw su***de. He knew better than anyone that Marineford wasn’t just the Navy’s stronghold… it was the World Government’s stage, ruled from the shadows by Imu, the King of the World. 👁️

Kaido had felt that presence before, back in the age of Rocks. He knew what it meant to defy the world itself. And he also knew one thing — Whitebeard’s “family” wasn’t just his crew; they were his treasure.

Kaido understood that the old man would do anything for them, even if it meant throwing away his life. So when Kaido moved that day, it wasn’t out of hatred or rivalry — it was out of respect.

Maybe Kaido didn’t go to end Whitebeard’s era…
Maybe he went to protect the man — and the dream — of the brother who once taught him what true strength meant.
